The Ancient Ruins is the third map in Bring Back The Sun! on Roblox. It introduces a counting-with-modifiers puzzle to derive the keypad code, plus a bucket chain, lockpicking minigame, and a golden wheat altar. Completing it earns the Shard of the Fallen Sun.
The Ancient Ruins — stone structures, counting puzzles, and the Shard of the Fallen Sun relic.
The Counting Puzzle (Code: 882)
The keypad code 882 is derived by counting three types of objects around the ruins and applying a modifier rule:
Count These Objects
| Object | Raw Count | Modifier | Final Digit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Golems | 6 | Even → +2 | 8 |
| Haystacks | 7 | Odd → +1 | 8 |
| Water Wheel | 1 | Odd → +1 | 2 |
Modifier rule: If the raw count is even, add 2. If odd, add 1. This gives 8, 8, 2 — code is 882.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Step 1 — Count Golems, Haystacks, and the Wheel
Walk the entire ruins area and count all golems (6), haystacks (7), and the water wheel (1). Apply the modifier rule to get the three digits: 8, 8, 2.
Step 2 — Enter Code 882
Enter 882 at the keypad. This unlocks the next area of the ruins.
Step 3 — The Bucket Chain
Find a bucket and use it to transport something (likely water or a substance) to a specific location in the puzzle chain. The bucket is a key item — don't leave the area without picking it up.
Step 4 — Lockpicking Minigame
A lockpicking minigame blocks one of the doors. Interact with the lock to start the minigame and complete it to proceed. The mechanics of the minigame are straightforward — follow the on-screen prompt.
Step 5 — Golden Wheat Altar
Place the required item (golden wheat) on the altar to complete the final puzzle of this map. The altar accepts the item only after the previous steps are complete.
Reward
Completing the Ancient Ruins earns the Shard of the Fallen Sun — the second of the four legendary relics. See the Relics page for all four.
Tips
- Count every golem and haystack carefully before entering the code — it's easy to miss one in the ruins environment.
- The modifier rule (even +2, odd +1) applies consistently. Memorize it once and it works for all three objects.
- Pick up the bucket before progressing past the area where it's found — you'll need it for the chain later.
