Sinister Forest Walkthrough — Bring Back The Sun

Second map. Mushroom obby, code 9898 for a pickaxe, crystal for Mr. Mouse, red/pink/blue fertilizer recipe, axe and ladder to the owl, then dig up the treasure map's X.

The Sinister Forest is the second map in Bring Back The Sun! on Roblox and the first to award a legendary relic. It's a bigger step up from the Wizard's House than it first looks: two obbies, a pickaxe-and-crystal chain, a three-plant fertilizer recipe, an axe-and-ladder puzzle, and a treasure hunt. Complete it all to earn the Tear of the Forest.

Bring Back The Sun Sinister Forest walkthrough — fertilizer puzzle and treasure hunt guide

The Sinister Forest — an enchanted woodland with obbies, puzzle chains, and a hidden relic.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Step 1 — Complete the Mushroom Obby

The map opens with a mushroom obby. Take it slowly — falling sends you back to the very start of the obby, not just to where you fell. It isn't the hardest course in the game, but rushing it just costs more time overall.

Step 2 — The Glass Puzzle and Code 9898

On the other side, find and read the book — it explains that a nearby "happy rock" can smash glass. Pick up the happy rock and use it to break open a glass case, revealing a text with the code 9898. Enter it at the numpad to receive a pickaxe.

Step 3 — Grab the Red Plant Before Heading Back

Before crossing the mushroom obby again, pick up the red plant on this side of the map. It's easy to miss and you'll need it later for the fertilizer recipe — grabbing it now saves a return trip. Then cross the obby again to get back.

Step 4 — Break the Rock for the Crystal, Then Meet Mr. Mouse

Back on the main side, use the pickaxe to break the large rock nearby, revealing a crystal. Bring the crystal to Mr. Mouse, a small mouse character standing by a locked door — he unlocks the door once you hand it over.

Step 5 — The Fertilizer Puzzle (Red, Pink, Blue)

Inside, pick up the seed and plant it in the mud patch. The fertilizer recipe needs three plants: the red plant from Step 3, plus a pink plant and a blue plant found in this same area. Drop all three into the fertilizer box, then place the finished fertilizer on the planted seed — a tree grows almost instantly.

Step 6 — Magic Gloves Drop the Tree

Find the magic gloves nearby and use them on the tree to topple it onto the fence, flattening a path forward.

Step 7 — The Second (Log) Obby

A log-style obstacle course follows. As with the mushroom obby, falling into the water sends you back to the start — go steady rather than fast.

Step 8 — Shovel and Potion

Past the log obby, find a shovel behind the giant rock. Use it to dig up the dead patches of ground nearby — one specific patch (not all of them) hides a potion.

Step 9 — Axe, Ladder, and the Owl's Chest Key

Use the potion on a nearby building's doorknob to melt it open. Inside is an axe — pick it up and chop the wood in the room, which automatically becomes a ladder. Before climbing, grab the apple sitting nearby. Place the ladder against the wall, climb to the roof, and give the apple to the owl waiting there. It hands you a chest key in return.

Step 10 — Open the Chest for the Treasure Map

Head back to the obby area and take a right turn from the starting point to find a chest. Unlock it with the chest key to get a treasure map.

Step 11 — Dig at the X to Finish the Map

The treasure map marks an X behind a rock near the map's spawn point. The fastest way back there is to let yourself die on purpose — you respawn right at the start. From there, find the rock with the X behind it, use the shovel on that spot, and dig it up to complete the Sinister Forest.

Reward

Completing the Sinister Forest earns the Tear of the Forest — the first of the four legendary relics needed to enter the wizard's castle. See the Relics page for what all four do.

Tips

  • Grab the red plant on the far side of the mushroom obby before crossing back — forgetting it means doing the obby a third time.
  • The dead patch hiding the potion is one specific spot, not every dead patch on the ground — dig around methodically rather than digging everywhere.
  • Dying on purpose after opening the chest is the intended shortcut back to the treasure map's dig site, not a bug.
